AEROS AND B-METS SUSPENDED, GAME TO RESUME FRIDAY
Aeros lead 7-2 in the middle of the 5th
The opening night contest between the Aeros and the Binghamton Mets was suspended in the middle of the fifth inning Thursday night due to a torrential downpour. The suspended game is scheduled to be completed Friday evening at 5:05 PM with the regularly scheduled game to be played afterward as a seven-inning contest.
At the time of the downpour, the B-Mets were trailing Akron 7-2 thanks to a five-run fifth inning output from the Aeros off starter Eric Niesen and reliever Derrick Ellison.
Binghamton was in a 2-0 early hole early, but rallied to tie in the fourth on a two-run homer from left fielder Lucas Duda.
Game two in this four-game series will follow the completion of the suspended game, set for a 5:05 p.m. start. Lefty Scott Barnes makes his first start of the season against Binghamton's Dylan Owen.
