Whether it's speaking at a local school, visiting a nearby hospital, or "Orbit" dancing in a community parade, the Aeros have made a committment to becoming a fixture in the community and visible for twelve months a year. The Aeros sponsor a number of charitable events which benefit Akron Aeros Charities.

Thurman Munson and George Sisler Scholarships
Akron Aeros Charities are proud to support the Thurmon Munson and George Sisler scholarship funds, which benefits one local high school baseball playerand one local high school softball player. Any student residing in Stark (Thurmon Munson Scholarship), Medina, Portage or Summit Counties (Georger Sisler scholarship) who will be attending a four-year college on a full-time basis and has participated in either varsity baseball or softball is eligible to apply for the $1,000 scholarships. Scholarship applications will be made available each spring.

Annual Canal Park Home Run Trot
Benefitting both Akron Aeros Charities and Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), this run/walk begins and ends at Main Street. Held each April, exciting street activities, great food, wonderful gifts, and exercise are all part of the morning's festivities. The Home Run Trot will not be taking place in 2009 - we hope for it to return in 2010.

Donation Requests:
We gladly fill as many donation requests as we can. Please note that all baseball equipment is property of the Cleveland Indians and cannot be given as donated items. We ask that requests be sent hard copy, on company/business letterhead if possible (if not, just a letter will do), to the following address:

The date of your event MUST be included for your request to be considered. Do not expect to receive your materials until 1-2 weeks outside of your event REGARDLESS of any deadlines you may have. If your auction date is less than four weeks away, your request will NOT be considered.
