The 12th Annual Canal Park Home Run Trot not only attracted a record number of participants, but also raised a record amount of money for Akron Aeros charities and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the team announced today. The race was held Saturday, March 29th.

A slew of familiar faces will don the road grays for Akron on Opening Day April 3rd in Harrisburg, as 14 of the 24 players on the roster will be making their second tours with the Aeros the team announced today.

Local media will get their first glimpse of the 2008 edition of the Akron Aeros on Media Day at Canal Park, scheduled for Tuesday, April 1st from 1-3 p.m. The team will have a workout on the field at 3 p.m. Neither Media Day nor the team workout is open to the public.
