Joel, a native of Erie, PA is in his thirteenth overall year in Minor League Baseball and his fifth overall year as a front office member, after joining the Aeros in the fall of 2011. He spent the previous three seasons (2009-2011) with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats' as the Director of Ticket Sales. Prior to joining the Fisher Cats, Joel was an Associate with the Reading Phillies during the 2008 season. Joel's career in professional baseball started back in 1995, as a child. Joel was the batboy for the Erie SeaWolves (single-A for Pirates & Double-A for L.A. Angels) and then advanced up to become the Visiting Clubhouse Manager, Home Clubhouse Manager and then finally supervised both the Home and Visiting Clubhouses thru the 2002 season.
During his time with the Fisher Cats, he was a member of the 2011 Eastern League Champions, he was a vital piece of the 2010 Fisher Cats front office that was presented the 2010 Larry MacPhail Award, naming the club as the top team for promotional effort and community involvement throughout all levels of Minor League Baseball. Joel was also a member of the Fisher Cats front office team that was awarded the 2009 Double-A Bob Freitas Award by Baseball America, recognizing the club for achieving long-term success in Minor League Baseball. Joel played a vital role in leading the ticket sales department to annual 3-4% growth and an increase in attendance that exceeded 375,000 during the 2011 season. Some of Joel's fondest memories of working with the Fisher Cats are witnessing a no hitter pitched by Kyle Drabek on July 4th, 2010, rehab assignments by Daisuke Matsuzaka, future Hall of Famer, John Smoltz and hosting the 2011 Eastern League All-Star Game.
Joel was a collegiate baseball player and is a 2008 grad from California University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Sports Management and minored in Criminal Justice Intelligence Studies. During his time in college, he interned with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2005-2008) and the PGA Tour during the 2006 84 Lumber Classic. In Joel's free time, he enjoys traveling and cooking with his fiancé. Joel is active in the community with Little Leagues, Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity.
